Your Christmas Spirits

by StandStill   Dec 11, 2008

Kiss the star of Bethlehem
with your pursed and rosy lips.
You could flush with a secret joy
as she embraces your warmth and draws you in.

Sweetheart, you could twinkle up there
or down here, singing out the carols
from when you were small.
The lights are louder down here anyway.

Come on and melt like a snowflake,
we can waste away under the mistletoe.
Your heat and my chill,
who wins out in the clash?

Sometimes I wonder if I could dash through the snow
wrapped in the Hallmark moment of it all.
Tie me up, darling, and unwrap me.
My walls are your papers for tearing.

I always liked to pretend I could hear the Christmas coming,
but it's forever been the smell of winter on your breath.
You're so warm. I melt.
So glad you've found your Christmas spirits.
