Sadness

Where there should be gladness
in your words, written or spoken,
there is only a deep sadness.
Your inner spirit is broken.

Memories of a long lost love it seems,
have wounded your kind soul.
They haunt your dreams,
you will never be whole.

The time has come to let them go,
to fill your soul with happiness.
Once again let your words show
there is no more sadness.

    Dear Silvia,

    You are right..there should be happiness and there is.
    In this life we cannot always have what we want, or not in the way we want it and this causes deep emotional pain. Once we can accept the hand that is dealt to us, the feeling of happiness returns.
