Perhaps Tomorrow

by Melissa   Jan 23, 2009

I keep expecting you
to dazzle me,
to utter something palatable
befitting of a tongue
as fruitful as yours

mine thirsts for conversation
like a kiss craves it's honey,
language has been my lover
longer than one can possibly fathom
no lips needn't skim
the surface of this skin-

I keep waiting
to be astounded
by love,

but there is no moon tonight
and the stars,
they don't twinkle anymore
