Night High Reverie

by Ocean Soul   Mar 2, 2009

Beneath the moon lit sky
A lonely wanderer lies
Recalling the days gone by
His beloved one gone in time

All his joy belongs to the past
Grieving is what lies ahead
Calmly the night runs high
As the ghosts of smoke fly

Haunt me, scare me, hunt me, defeat me
Make me the prisoner of thy mortal sins
Ghosts draw thee lecherously in the sky
As the sirens sing through the night high

Every time I breathe I hear
The end rustles near and near
Under a tree thou art awaiting me
I sense the leaves whispering

Aphrodite of my reveries
A sin for thee, a sin for me
In thy ocean of lust take me
I'll die for the love of thee

Enjoyable poem. Very nicely constructed lines and so strong with emotions. Good work!

I enjoyed reading this. The standard structure mixed with some of the more uncommon English was refreshing. There is something i just can't shake about this poem. Great job.
