The Bitterness of Fighting

by Maddy   Mar 10, 2009

Tendrils of pain and confusion
Violently claw around my heart
Meaningless words roll from our tongues
Leaving a taste potently tart.

As tears of anger streak mascara,
I feed the flames with my insecurities
Bringing up subjects that should stay unsaid,
Oops I didn't mean that, forgive me, please.

My agony slashes into every word I say,
Was hoping for comfort, instead confrontation
Now both our hearts and spilling blood;
Angels, please come save me, I need salvation.

Both tried to resolve the conflict
And smoothed over the jagged bumps,
Yet still I feel so empty and distant,
Harsh words of his, conjuring in my throat, a lump.

Fighting does suck, like TJ said.. but he's right on, it does bring out things that we're maybe keeping in and dont want to say.. I guess theres really pros and cons to fighting, although it's not healthy for us at all.

    A good poem. :]
    5/5.
