In The Blue of the Evening

by Sylvia   Mar 20, 2009

(Written for a club challenge based on the number one song on your birthdate, or any other important date in your life.)

Tonight the moon and stars are out,
shadows dance as we meet again.
Our lips touch in a gentle kiss,
arms open, a close embrace,
in the blue of the evening.

Together at midnight,
beneath the sky,
winds whispering softly,
dreams do come true,
in the blue of the evening.

Open your eyes my love.
don't be sad, I must go.
You must believe that
we will be together once more
in the blue of the evening.

A beautiful, moving poem, Sylvia. A romantic ode to eternal, timeless love. Brought images up in my mind.

To me it was like a song, loved the way you repeated title and the twist that you added

    Open your eyes my love.
don't be sad, I must go.
    You must believe that
we will be together once more
in the blue of the evening

    beautiful one.

all the best and take care

    What a beautiful poem.

    Together at midnight,
    beneath the sky,
    winds whispering softly,
    dreams do come true,
in the blue of the evening.

I love this stanza. It is like closing your eyes and the one you love is there with you once again. The winds whispering words of love.

    Open your eyes my love.
don't be sad, I must go.
    You must believe that
we will be together once more
in the blue of the evening.

The sadness when you know the dream was that just a dream....and once more you are left standing alone....but still with that little bit of hope that soon you won't have to part again.
    Great job!
