A lapse of memory

by kelleyana   Apr 17, 2009

Unpleasant memories that nag the brain,
making things complex and never seems the same like
Carrying the load of guiltiness and pain,
Makes life seems like a never ending rain

Blessed with a very selective mind, store and retrieve memories for a lifetime
yet traumatic experience engraved forever
But find the inner faith to never say never, just
Trust in time to heals and eliminates

Listened to your inner health and external reality
Creates freedom from anxiety and tension
Search joy to cast away sorrows
Believed that there'll be a pleasant tomorrow

Forget guilt that produces fear, believe in yourself and sincere
Be in the state of mind to find happiness, search deep within and you'll find
Cause perfect harmony comes from the mind

Think of these words sometimes
Every emotion is just a slice of life
Why constantly returning in the past?
It's time to surpass.

^^loved how you have described each emotion as slice of life... it indeed is ... past is gone ... never to return back... then why should we bother... very beautifully penned...

    Hi Kel:)

Yes you are so right: continiously looking back can affect us negatively. Just learn from mistakes and then move on without looking back is much, much better..I could not agree more!

Search joy to cast away sorrows
Believed that there'll be a pleasant tomorrow

The lines I loved most, for they are so wise:)

    I have missed your poems!
