Waitin' on Sunshine

by Sylvia   Apr 20, 2009

Waitin' on sunshine so bright.
nothing but rain in sight.
Clouds overhead, dreary day,
smile, come what may.

Waitin' on sunshine so bright,
sunny days a nice delight.
No good news, it's gettin' bad.
hard workin' people are mad,

Waitin' on sunshine so bright,
politicians never contrite.
Time for us to raise our voices,
tell them to make different choices.

Waitin' on sunshine so bright,
words they speak ignite.
Don't hang us out to dry,
we'll pull the lever, say goodbye.

`Great flow & rhyme as well as a tint of imagery.

`Really unique interesting form, a great deal of repetition, but it works well with this piece. I really like how you used a bit of slang.. it worked just fine.

The rest of the poem was wonderfully written, need I say more! :] Great message, too!

    5/5.

    Sylvia,

I see a poem here with a message - one that is being said loudly.

Politicians speak alot and their words are carefully chosen to please the majority vote. This is a tried and tested method, yes? However, if they fail to hear the voters who often don't shout out they could find themselves in hot water and out of office.

    Well done on this poem.

If only we could pull the lever, dear Silvia...but what real power do we have?
Go on strike, refuse to buy certain products, vote for the one who looks most honest?
I have seen enough already to know that all Obama is going to do is increase the US national debt, mr. miracle man, heh!
(But I do think he was the best choice, considering the alternatives)

    Nice, deep one;)

    *hugs*
