Deidra II

by She Is My Rain   May 19, 2009

Her tiny body
Tucked between my arms.
Her angelic face
Sleeping close
To my heart.

Unable to look away,
I cradle her,
Rocking her off into
Dreams.

A few years old;
Her perfect smile
As she looks up.
A perfect picture.
Her little hand
Gripping tightly to mine.
Indefinably inseparable.

Six years old;
Without a care in the world.
Running up to me,
She wraps her arms tightly
Around my waist.
"I love you." is all I hear
And I cant help but smile.
Her eyes glistening,
Her smile brighter then ever.

She makes my world
A better place.
A place where
I'm not afraid to live.

A child
With a smile
That makes
Everything OK.
She's my life,
My world.
And I'd do anything
To keep her safe.

I only hope
I don't let her
Down.
