Jack's Song

by David Paul   Jun 2, 2009

Do you ever wonder why the world is falling down,
And all your friends are watching as it crumbles to the ground,
This wasnt meant to be a sad event you see,
With everyone laughing for me.

Around mid January I lost a friend of mine,
Its hard to understand but it must have been his time,
Nothing else explains the 20 year loss,
Or what has come with such a cost.
We use to play guitar,
We use to write these songs,
About our lovers lost,
How everything went wrong,
His jokes would make us laugh his heart would beat ours out,
I doubt he'd want us sad as he'd say

Do you ever wonder why the world is falling down,
And all your friends are watching as it crumbles to the ground,
This wasn't meant to be a sad event you see,
With everyone laughing for me.

Your kindness was our weakness and I must admit,
We were never to strong were some words he once said,
Those few are engraved in stone and heard by those who care,
Would you dare?

To be the one who knows,
This wasn't all in vain,
To find the hearts he touched,
And left in so much pain,
Just listen to the sound of his melody,
And play it back once again.

Do you ever wonder why the world is falling down,
And all your friends are watching as it crumbles to the ground,
This wasn't meant to be a sad event you see,
With everyone laughing for me.
