Your Light

by Meagan Adelle   Jun 15, 2009

Again I wake before the sunrise
It drops faint reminders of your eyes
I'll watch it as I begin another day
So bright, yet surrounded by gray
I think of you and wipe the tears away

I can't come to terms with the day you were beat
That smile brought us in, oh the way it could greet
Old age crept in, you could barely continue the fight
We tried to keep you, held your hand with all our might
But you're gone. We lost you that night

As the sun sets now, the sky ignites
Colors then so dull now seem so bright
As I cry for you and rest my head tonight
I know in my heart, those colors are your light
