Epitaph to Leo

by Ray Smallshaw   Jun 24, 2009

This poem is written in remembrance of my friend Leo who was my friend Heiner's Pug dog.

I was told today that you were killed in an accident while at play,
Run over by the one you love and so you are now in the doggy heaven up above,
I only know now every time I pass your house it will make me feel terrible just like a louse,
As you won't be there for me to stroke or even for me to give you a friendly poke,
I use to look forward to those days, just to gaze on you and your funny ways,
The way you use to sun bathe on the porch would make me smile, light me up just like a torch,
I only know I have shed some tears as I have loved you for so many years,
I will miss the feel of your bristly fur and the licks you gave me to show you cared,
So your epitaph to me will always be the love and laughter you gave me,
God bless you Leo.

I think you need more periods instead of commas.

I know how you feel. Last summer my cat got pregnant and I got very attatched to her kittens. One of them was hit by my stupid brother so I had to watch it die in my lap on the way to the vet (it wasn't all open and guts and stuff). It was the worst feeling ever.

You did a good job. It pulled some heart strings for me. Five out of five. :[ Huggles*

Woahh.. this really hit me hard, cause I have a pug and hearing that one got killed in a car accident.. ahh it breaks my heart in half! I love pugs so much. Wow well done though with the emotion, looking back on all the memories, very cute memories here that youve written.. what can I say.. very sad that you had to write this.. but well done.
