Lost

I feel so lost,
Yet I haven't lost my way.
What is the cost
for wanting to end a horrible day?

My eyes wander around,
searching for an answer to my empty soul.
All I can do is stare at the ground
because this hurtful shock has taken its toll.

People speak to me.
I do not hear.
I walk around aimlessly,
and hide away so no one sees me tear.

You look at me,
Yet you don't see my eyes so deep.
You come closer to see
But you still can't see how I internally weep.

Everyday I wear this disguise
to make me normal, to keep me sane.
Even though my heart is filled with lies,
I can still run and jump in the rain.

The rain continues to fall,
but not from the sky.
It's pouring its heart out,
because it's falling from my eyes.

I don't know where I am;
I don't know where I've been.
All I know and all I've ever known
is that I am lost.
