Horse of Chrome

by Bill Turner   Jul 14, 2009

Saddle up on your horse of steel
Thunder into the darkness
Strapped, packed and ready
Chasing shadows on a steed of chrome
This path will not take me home

Darkness lay before me
Ethereal shades of soul give chase
This night belongs to demons
No quarter is all I give
No quarter is where I live

Rumble of rage
Burning asphalt screams
What will be the end
Blazing guns fly at my wing
Listen to the bullets sing

Blood washing over me
Soulless shadows taking shape
As my pipes hit full roar
Will it be heaven or hell
Ride baby ride, too early to tell

Pleasantly surprising and surprisingly pleasant! This was by no means brilliant, but with an undercurrent of dark humor and a nice lyrical feel, it makes a very engrossing read!

"No quarter is all I give
No quarter is where I live"

These lines actually managed to steal a chuckle! Good work!

A dark setting... Wonderfully portrayed, awesomely dark and descriptive. A good read, thanks :)
