Without You

by She Is My Rain   Jul 17, 2009

I'm barely hanging on,
but I'm pretending
to be strong,
waiting for this ending.

Everyday my heart breaks,
and every night it mends,
just to bring back the aches
and break all over again.

My mind is always an endless fog.
A pile of useless words.
And in my graying world,
all that soars is blackbirds.

And the nights
that I lie awake,
and die within my shell,
are a wanted keepsake.

Each day that goes by
I know I shouldn't cry,
but I can't see myself
doing much without you.
