Loneliness

by Ray Smallshaw   Sep 3, 2009

Yes! I have known you,
I have felt your helplessness,
I have been enveloped in your despair.
I have been suffocated by your seclusion.

You were no friend as you made me feel life had passed me by,

And as if I was on this earth then just to go through the motions.

Yet, I was blessed as God's hand guided me out of your suffocating cocoon,

Out and back into the warmth of belonging, through her as she held my hand,

You are a distant memory now so let this verse give hope and faith to those you are ensnaring,

And lead them once more into the warmth that is there.
