Letter to My Lover

by Lauraballz   Oct 12, 2009

Dear lover,

For years my words have marched strong, only to fall silent upon dead ears.
And my eyes even hurt now when I hold back the tears.
The bruises of your inadequate pressures stain my once strong skin.
My security's at a loss to your unsatisfied sins.

I have always needed to have something to fix, so without it what will I do?
Am I better off without, or better off with you?
Taking beatings, no matter how disguised, eventually tears in two,
Criticised for something you've made me into.

Am I to die unhappy to do what's best for you?
Is it better to be selfish, or better saving you?
Are decisions made now to be set in stone?
Are we to live our lives as persons overthrown?

Heart wants to rescue, head wants to stray,
Yet both ruled by you creates difficult play.
