Perception's Plea

by Lauraballz   Oct 12, 2009

If I could define perfection, or create serenity,
I can say with absolute confidence I'd have you here with me.

But I can't define perfection, nor can I choose sides,
For my heart and mind were destined, to never coincide.

So many foolish times I've let my heart just pick and choose,
And for that my head has suffered as she's taken every bruise.

My heart has made her choices and she hasn't involved you,
My mind is out of practise, lost the reasoning I knew.

I don't see why I'm penalised for deeds I can't control,
Believe me if I had my way, I'd share with you my soul.
