The Cost of Knowing

by Ray Smallshaw   Oct 30, 2009

I only know that the cost of knowing weighs heavy on my heart,

And that my heart will never beat with the strength it did when you were its loving part,

The cost is with me daily as that heart is now an aching mass,

While I have been lead out to idle in autumn's dirty brown grass,

With my spirit totally broken and my mind in disarray as love is not now with me as I let it slip away,

The cost of knowing was just not worth it as only heartache is what it left and some long forgotten photographs in paradises memory chest.
