Choices

by MissSideways   Nov 26, 2009

How do you know if you have made the right choice?
You don't.
But you will find out soon enough.
As the tale unfolds before you.
& the true feelings bubble to the surface like a carbonated drink, tingling and burning your heart
When you finally realize, either way: you were wrong. you were right.
Once you feel the sting of an empty inbox, empty bed and lonely nights
You will question and criticize your own choices
Justify them. Clarify them. Support them.
Break them down. Build them back up again.
Blame them. Shame them. Then take them whole heartedly in your arms.
Run from them. Then call them back.
Nurture them. Tell them they ruined your life.
Make them change your life.
Curse them for changing your life.
Praise them for changing your life.
Just never forget: this was your choice and you must live by it.
Because you will NOT turn your back on them.
For the sake of personal growth
For self discovery & self respect
For all of your dreams, hopes & aspirations
For tomorrow, with yesterday in mind
For your independence & learning its powers
For your family, your soul, your happiness
For you
You will find the will to know.

When I wrote this piece, I had just made the very difficult decision to leave everything behind and move to England from Australia.
I found all of the answers I needed.
    Thank God.
