Beating Drum

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Dec 29, 2009

Music plays inside my head;
spinning round and round.
Notes escaping through my skin
and falling to the ground.

A paper's placed beneath my feet
in attempt to catch the sound,
but failure seems the case instead;
I hear the music drown.

The notes, they crumble as they fall
and they fall away from me.
I try to engrave them in my mind,
but I lose the melody.

A sadness of reality
engulfs all I've become.
It's impossible to capture
the sound of a beating drum.

    Jenni, I've always love your writings. I don't know where you get all this amazing ideas from. I like how you penned, how you tried to engrave the notes in your mind, but lose it's melody. I think, that's just beautiful. Well music has become part of our lives, one way or another. Don't worry capturing the beating of the drums wouldn't be impossible in the future. Nice seeing you writing again. keep it up;)
