Questions To Self

by Mimed Lovette   Jan 1, 2010

Strong hard liquor,
does it heal the pain?
Pray not to make thee sober,
lest efforts drench the drain.

Cold wet sea spray,
does it chase away?
The sorrows, tears and pain,
before your heart turns grey.

Hot warm sun rays,
do they make your day?
Shower heat upon your soul,
to keep the freeze at bay.

Calm turquoise waters,
does it soothe your mind?
Or would you like to ride the waves,
and search what you can never find.

I overly enjoyed this write..I was smiling because actually I was answering yes to most of the questions you asked. I think its totally up the person. When people are feeling pain and there is nothing but tears, they have to have an open mind as to how to heal it. Liquor, turqouise waters, it can all work if your up to letting it help you truly get better...
I loved this write! LOVED it!.

Well I like how you compose this poem. There seems to be lots of different ways for us to heal our sorrow. Though some might not work for us, we tend to seek other alternative ways of healing our sorrow. I like the questions that you asked at the second line of each stanza and answering on the 3rd and 4th line of each stanza. I just love how you end the poem. Sometimes, all we need to do is live our lives and enjoy the surprises in life that awaits us.I really enjoyed reading this poem. Excellent work.Keep it up;)
