Inner Demons

by Jenni Marie   Jan 6, 2010

These towering walls are crumbling,
No longer able to keep up this facade
For slowly it's becoming certain
This life is just a game of charades

Tears that have been held in for so long
Are now slowly escaping free
And when I stare into that mirror of mine
Self hatred and disgust is all that I see

Fighting these emotions has become tiring
No longer do I want to fight this fight
Days have now become so empty and long
Happiness seems so far out of sight

Thinking of past coping mechanisms
Seems the past has come back to haunt me
Because no matter how much I try
These inner demons just wont let me free
