Love's fool

by Anthony M   Jan 11, 2010

The heart dreams once more to embrace
to feel the delirious warmth of love,
feeding this addiction with another taste
of this nectar I've become a victim of.

To feel goosebumps upon my skin
when our lips gently touch and caress
unleashing the erotic thoughts within,
'tis my eden that I yearn to posses.

I would sacrifice all to relive this dance
but my vision rides away on the breeze
only memories remain of our romance,
alone I weep 'till the tears become seas.

Emptiness prevails on my shattered soul
like the sun descending beyond the horizon
and now my love for you has exacted a fatal toll,
living without passion, I have become undone.

The beginning was beautiful & then the poem dwindled to sadness but nevertheless a wonderful write. Heartbreaking words in the last few stanzas - well done .

Love can make us feel like this and when it is gone we want to experience it again. Part of our makeup, I think. Well done.

What a heart breaking piece. Full of beautiful memories.

This stanza really brought the tears. It is so hard to live with just memories. No matter how beautiful. The reality of not having that love with you anymore. brings so much pain.
    Ecellent job!
    Take care
