Invulnerable (Sonnet)

by eehcuhhhz   Feb 9, 2010

He, as untouchable as she, rides the ripples
Of emptiness from their busy lives.
Their futures are branded crippled
Their senses of fulfillment deprived.

She, as shielded as he, creates the airs of mystery
They are their own cruel adversaries
Limiting pleasure, prohibiting misery
Although an illusion of contentment they carry

Yet they long for more than
Their shield’s primitive desires
However, their fantasy’s hidden tangent plan
Raises the risks of suffering even higher

When the invulnerable he and she met
They disposed of the heart’s protective net
