The Song (Sonnet)

The Song

This song would repeat itself
Playing softly within my mind,
Summoning feelings of adoration
That you have still yet to find.

"I am but courageous", it went
"When your presence is nearby
My knees would buckle, my heart melt
My voice would squeak through my replies.

My eyes are forever hypnotized
To your perfect, cherry-reddened lips
Let you and I be the sun and moon
Are you ready for our eclipse?"

And so this song would repeat
My mind refusing to let it end
Calling upon the flying emotions
That refuses to hide and descend

But as long as you are by my side
I will try to love you as a friend
