Growing Ever So Distant!

When I was alone, you stood by my side,
When I refused help, you would still try.
When I the slumps, you told me to hold my pride,
We pushed each other, and forever we would fly.

You've been ahead for quite some time,
When I look at it, I feel like I've broken our bond.
There were times I used to be there at the drop of a dime,
I used to help you go above and beyond.

The gap between us continues to grow by the day,
There might be a wish that you have, that I can't grant.
At times when you're near I wish you would stay,
But even now I feel that we're Growing Ever So Distant!
