Cheers

by Kuro   Mar 14, 2010

In peace and quiet there is only truth
noise and turmoil creates a ruse
in the silence, I pour a drink
I take a moment to reflect and think
here's to you my joy, my shame
my heart torn out then set aflame

and for all the fears and tears
throughout all these miserable years
impending veers from all my peers
past mistakes repeated...
cheers

I drown my sorrow with a bitter taste
drinking alone and left to be disgraced
at least when I'm drunk, I can smile
I am nothing to be, without my guile

I raise my glass in honor of you
lowering my standards, yet still so few
reasons to why this life of mine
becomes even harder to define

At times issues in life does drive people to drink thinking it will make them feel better and the problems will go away and that is very far from the truth. Drinking only causes another problem. Well done.

Looks like there is a lot running on your mind..perhaps a time of reflection of the years..your write was vivid and I could see the image as I read it...take care.

I hope you don't think ill of me but for some reason when i read this i heard the voice of Eore that donkey from winny the pooh. I love your simplistic charm. And i ask that you check mine out too since we seem to have a similar style.
