In Praise

In Praise by Ray Smallshaw

I look back and after nearly a lifetime I look in praise at those who knew the answer was love,

Not Life or death, love that one thing that to all means and is something different,

Then I close my eyes and give thanks that even though it has taken me so long that at last I know,

And with my knowledge I am able to look back and reap all the rewards that had passed me bye.

Knowing that those times missed would have brought through the knowing a greater joy,

Love is life and death so it is definitely the one that can unite thus it can overcome both life and death,

As a result it can carry us through eternity.

I can't say I liked this poem very much. Those are lines, each carrying it's own messege, while each line leads to another in a stream. The idea is unique, I give you that. This kind of poetry is a modern one, I get that. There are no rhymes, no structure, more like a story than a poem to me.

I'm sorry I'm so harsh, but this is my honest opinion. 3/5

I really like this work. the real meaning of life, in my opinion, is love. I totally agree with you. You write with nothing but truth, love it. 5-5
