Solace

by Beautiful Forever   Mar 31, 2010

Tired eyes linger on a lost trail,
A beaten path walked without consent,
Forever I will refuse to fail,
As my heart holds the purest intent,

Like a diamond ring lost in dirt,
Endless clouds never let me shine,
Each traveler equally as curt,
Rejecting every flaw in my design,

I never thought I could ever see,
The clouds backing away to reveal,
Such a beautiful mess made of me,
My lonely soul pleading to heal,

A new shadow overcasts my chance,
Her hand pulls me from the ground,
I fell in love - it took one glance,
She just keeps smiling without sound,

A day walking - we're still together,
She carries me gently in her palm,
I must be lighter than a feather,
My heart has never been this calm,

I thought moving forward was right,
But there is no mistake to this,
She banished the dark with her light,
A sanctuary I shall never reminisce...

This poem is the only one to give me so many problems while writing lol... Here's 2 stanzas I've removed in the making:

One last look at the path behind,
Where my vision used to linger,
Almost as if she has read my mind,
Within a second - I'm on her finger...

A town I thought to be out-of-reach,
Vibrant colors and sounds - a trance,
A perfect date without any speech,
Could this be my first true romance?
