If there was a place

by PassingAngel   Apr 9, 2010

Words are spilling out
at such a rapid rate
And yet I hear nothing,
if not added hate
Shallow pools of self disgust,
River dams of artificial delight
Collecting all things that might
Be of some comfort,
To this endless darkened night.

Maybe on the other side
I'll find untroubled sleep
If anything outside
Could be my calm to keep
A Universe in the distance
A beacon in its brilliance
In a composed, quiet place
Where thoughts don't shout at me
And judgments can't escape

The rain falling with such grace
Its sorrow reflecting on my face
Dripping, drop, dribble
Who knew such misery could be so beautiful

If not for change I wait
Then maybe a break
A place to rest for my sake
And end before selfishness takes its place

Meaning flowing at such slow pace
Reasons to remain starting to lose face
The melody in life seems broken
If not misshapen, then I am sadly misspoken

A million and one joys
Gleaming in the light
Yet a thousand short,
to make it right.
If clouded vision is what I see
Wishful thinking is unnecessary

Slipping slightly off the path
Road to redemption in sudden wrath
The wind swiftly blows
but i'm somehow going nowhere
Oh what i'd give to breathe the air
of a life borrowed, and no despair.

Words are spilling out
at such a rapid rate
And yet I hear nothing,
feel nothing,
if not lessened weight,
added turmoil
and nothing changed.
