New Born Wolf

The sacred night shines until morn.
This night was a special one though
For a small wolf was born
Into a shelter from the snow.

The wolf scampers around its den.
The mother nourishes the cub
As the alpha male defends,
The cub warming itself with a rub.

For months sight is denied.
Until one fateful day
The wolf receives its sight
And steps out in the suns rays.

The slightly dirty fur,
Slowly glistens day after day.
Until the wolf deters
And follows the pack or its way.
