Seems So Long

by Jad   Sep 20, 2017

All too soon my innocence would vanish
into a fire breed to diminish.
A helpless boy torn from sorrow,
trying to cope for a better tomorrow.

Needless hurt and neglect suffocates life,
twisting hopes and promises to strife.
I've buried myself through pills and blades.
Forever haunted by this bed I made.

Endless day have turned to years,
these burning tears have fallen in fear,
yet through it all I have remained.
A man? No, only a hollow frame.

My pink and purple skies faded away,
bringing darker days to stay.
In my world filled with deceit and greed,
a hint of love and hope is all it needs.
