One Of Those Aha Moments

by Melissa   Sep 28, 2010

Isn't it like me,
to throw caution in the air
just to see where it lands

who cares if porcupines dwell there,
their quills don't pierce much
(they barely make me bleed)
besides, I prefer the sting,
it's as intimate as any wound,
but more docile
than regret

What a nice little gem of a poem... small and sparkling, and the last four lines are pristine.

    Precisely delineated and poignantly delivered....
    really quite impressive...

    "...more docile
    than regret"
    ........woohoo..........

(plus I had a momentary chuckle imagining porcupines in the air....
but then.....an aha moment for me, too....;~)
