Life Turns Another Page

by Robert Daniel Long   Oct 2, 2010

Life runs fast

It's moving
In every direction
And before you know it
It seems to pass you bye

Another page is turned
And the tale
Of your life
Gets deeper

It's a story
With a beginning
And an end
A tale to tell
Of your darkest secrets
And your greatest accomplishments
Showing our weaknesses
And our strengths

And yet again
As we look
Life turns another page
Showing a new facet
Of who you are
And what you'll become

As you grow
More details
Begin to shine through
And life as you know it
Isn't to be bound
Nor tied
To any specific agenda
Unbridled
To say the least

The pages seem to turn
On their own
The longer we live
We tend to build a story
All about us
It's
A derision
On who we are

Sometimes hidden in fantasy
Is where we lie

And as the years progress
The pages of life
Seem as if
They begin to fade
Off into the distance
It's here
Where the pages
Begin to lose their print

And we fade off
Into the portals of time
Where life
Can't turn another page

It's a story
Now complete
And it's here
That
We settle down to sleep
A rest
Long overdue
