The Puppet-Master

by tainted melody   Oct 19, 2010

He fools us into thinking
we are moving on our own,
But little do we know,
we are under his control.

In front of us always,
are his sparkling designs.
We feel that we need them,
because we are blind.

In the middle of the ocean,
searching for dry land.
He pretends to guide us,
lending us a shattered hand.

We chomp at his bait,
so thirsty for a purpose,
But it's the fountain in the dessert,
he's only fooling us.

I loved this poem!! It certainly was a spiritual poem about Satan's crafty designs and how easy it is to be blinded by them and not even realize. I loved how you compared him to a puppet master. It was easy to picture it, and that is how you know you have written something well if the person reading it can imagine it. Nice poem. I loved the whole thing. :)
