Walk away

by Robert Daniel Long   Dec 4, 2010

It's cold rain
Against my face
The wind is driving it
All the harder
It's raining so hard
I cannot see
And it's hiding the tears
That are streaming
Down my face

The hurt inside
Almost to much to bear
A hearts being torn apart
While in the midst
Of your chest
Emotions are hidden
In a face
Paralyzed from pain

As you walk away
From the one you love

Words have been spoken
Spined like a cactus
The thorns Pearce the very soul
For we haven't taken time
To evaluate whats said
Or to choose
What we would say
For the benefit of understanding

We've missed the point

So a bruised soul
And a broken heart
Are left to sort
Through the pieces
Giving them a choice
To stay wounded
Or to walk away

Keeping your dignity
