My Heart and Your Last Name

by Nikkicola   Jan 5, 2011

I gave you my heart and you promised me your last name
How can I love someone else if I can not love the same?

Thoughts of perfection keep clouding my judgement
I'm so shocked I'm stuck in perpetual silence

I wont let myself believe the truth
I'm not ready to hate you

Your sarcasim echoes deep withing my bones
I tried to erase your memories with walls made of molded stone

I try to hide the truth with layers of makeup and a fake smile
I wear this scarf to wipe the tears from my eyes

This is all part of my plan, one day I will see you for who you are
By then I promised myself these wounds would only be scars
