Tasted My Tears

by Nikkicola   Mar 7, 2024

We’ve all had a taste of grief, we’ve all felt the tears
Yet you’ve never tasted mine, so why pretend you’re here?

Grasses so green they remind you of jealously.
Sky’s so blue you can’t help but picture me.

Flush on my cheeks, I look so pink.
I’d follow you with a single glance, a wink.

Soon though a storm would ultimately emerge.
Your hands are those that would keep me submerged.

I talk about grief; I talk about pain.
Like maybe someday I’ll be the same

But no one has tasted my tears, so how would they know.
They can’t, they don’t, so they all just go...
