Butterflies

by ibelievedhim   Feb 19, 2011

I draw butterflies on my arms whenever I feel like I need to cut.

They represent people who I love.

If I cut, the butterfly dies.

If I don't they live.

I want the people who mean the most to me to live.

So there for, I won't kill the butterflies.

I've always enjoyed reading short poems. But more often than not they lack substance. This however is far from it. From the very start you can tell that this is worth the couple seconds of reading. You did great :)

Its simple, short but its still good...i like i a lot...i did cut when i was younger for many years..and i did have relapse a couple months ago...i should do your butterfly thing...i have done a lot of things not just cutting...and everything wrecks you...i'm trying now to just fight through the bad times...thats all a person can do...just as long as you try..so I hope you do...good luck...and laugh...

The pain can be so deep, especially when you are young..I remember that pain very well, Katie..I didn't cut myself, I had never heared of such a thing, or felt the need..I did something far, far worse: I drank too much as a teen. Damage that is invisible but cannot be undone either.

sometimes I get so angry to see how many young lives are destroyed because of outside factors, be it parents or peers or the"opinion of others"in general...You should not do anything bad to YOU, but face your fears/ agressors and try to heal you life hun.

    *hugs*
