Trifecta

Collab with Britt

Dreary gusts blow dutifully
sharpening the guilt and unsettled ease
bringing destruction, whispers of doom,
wind keeps jumbling the peace in the seas,
fretfully whining til the orange sinks, while
pending on the storm to please.

Haphazard focus brings vessels of shine,
brightening bursts surrounding
havens of ample wonder,
as a promising heart waits for the
sun to rise, forever more -
his eyes, staring at the invisible
behind the unseen, for sooner
or later yellow rays will dress the cold scene.

Slight adjustments create a world
of differences, settling upon the
determined paths we simply seek,
standing firm on a wavering destination,
for reality needs acceptance to it's peak,
expectant; only a realist can stand
the longest in such a nation

As I told Britt, I really loved the quote you two used, the poem had so much wisdom in it. It kind of opens your eyes and makes you wonder which one you are...a pessimist, an optimist, or a realist. Lovely write, really brilliant inspiration for this piece.
