Found My Own Two Feet

by Snickerpie   Apr 30, 2011

Believe me when I say you changed me for the better. From now on, I look at love differently. I will no longer throw the word around and I will no longer fall for it so easily. I will be careful with my heart so it doesn't break again, or if it does it may never come back. I thank you for making me realize I have my own two feet to stand on, and I don't need a man to make me proud of myself. I know you thought I would not take this well and crawl back to you for a 2nd chance, but - I'M STRONGER - MUCH STRONGER than the person you remember me to be. And this is my new challenge and I will defeat it. [THANKS] for helping me realize I'm strong on my own...

I really liked the concept of this piece. I loved the part 'I don't need a man to make me proud of myself.' That is so very true, and that realization is going to make you a very strong woman. My only advise on this piece is to put it into a different format, this looks more like a paragraph then a poem. But I loved everything else. A very strong piece and yet a very harsh realization. Love it! 5/5

This is great. it shows that have been able to confront your despair and that you have learn to look at your scars as experience so that you will not be wounded the same way ever again. Nice job!
