The beggar(Italian Sonnet)

by Ş∂ņďħy∂   Jun 21, 2004

He lived on the road with no address,
He found his fare from the wood,
Skeletal he remained, with scanted food
Ugly he looked covered in dirty dress.

His eyes were filled with mere stress,
Nobody expressed sorry for the ill-fated dude.
Leaving his pride he pleads for food,
Begging to God to lessen his distress.

In front the shining sun, they saw him faint
No one in the crowd cared to heed.

Not cursing, but whispering complaint,
They all ignored him just like a weed.

Why is that everybody's heart so taint
They could have helped him stop fade!
