In Quiet

by Beautiful Chaos   Jul 2, 2011

I didn't know what to write,
what to say.
Some things were forbidden,
sweet fruits of temptation.

She kissed my lips,
like an old lover
or an apple,
rotting on the tree,
I hadn't quite decided yet.

There was something sweet there,
but all the sweetness known,
turned sour.
So I will keep it,
this silence.

I find the feeling of doubt and confusion in this piece, interesting. I loved that it was suspenseful and romantic all in one. Good work, Jenn!

Oh I love the true presence of the ending...how you can't contemplate yet what sweetness truly is, if it is lasting in form or just an old thing passed away.

Well-crafted emotions- I like that description of the kiss being like an apple, or maybe a rotted one, giving me that feel of forbidden temptations....you bring that reality back.

    God bless and keep writing!
