I Blame Myself

by Scott   Jul 7, 2011

Everywhere known couples walk hand in hand, wondering why alone I roam this land.

Yesterdays are just a dream, today I recall everything.

Wondering if our walls will one day fall, desperately hoping that you'll soon call.

There's choices you made to have our paths part, I know forever I have vacated your heart.

If I could just prove that it's meant be, hoping that you soon also will see.

Forever is lost together were not, it turns my stomach all tied in knots.

You will not listen and said I had my chance, never got to christen our wedding dance.

You married another guy quick in a blink, I cared for you why is all I can think.

You are gone now this I must admit, afraid to let go the best parts of it.

I know it's my fault as I sit here and rhyme, with this bottle of malt I'm rotting in time.

This is a really creative poem! The title did not tell too much and got me curious, I also thought it fit. Your rhymes are good aswell, so is the flow. I like how you developed the story starting of with hand holding cuoples. You've got a nice way of expressing your emotions and getting your thoughts into words. It isn't only deep it even sounds good and i was able to feel the pain. I knew this would be good ;)
