He lives in me

by The Poet Behind The Poems   Sep 6, 2011

As the day turns to night
I look to the heavens above
As he smiles down on me
With everlasting love

He was a prisoner of disease
And now free from the pain
As the tears fall from my eyes
I remember his face again

Ill never forget the memory you left
You're forever in my heart
You're Always in my thoughts
It may feel far but will never be apart

This is my last goodbye
In my heart he will always be
In my reflection forever

He lives inside me.

    Hey,

I really love this heartfelt poem. It's sad but beautiful

He was a prisoner of disease
And now free from the pain
As the tears fall from my eyes
    I remember his face again

I take it that this person has passed away from Cancer??? One of my uncles passed away from cancer. It is horrible to see them go through something like this. It drains the life out of them.

    This is my last goodbye
In my heart he will always be
    In my reflection forever

    He lives inside me.

This is my fav stanza in the poem. "In my reflection forever" - I immediately thought relative and you mentioned on one of my poems you had lost your father. So very sorry

It flows so well and really touched me.
