The Question Is...

Hurt by the one you love,
questions run through your mind,
why did he do this?
what did I do that was so wrong?
can this ever be the same again?

Replaying every minute you spent together,
remembering the happy times,
trying to block out the bad memories,
reliving the pain every second that passes,
reminding yourself that he hurt you,
he did it once, he'll do it again.

He loves me you say,
he won't dare betray me in that way again,
feeling in your heart this will work out,
when truth is, when somebody truly loves you,
they won't ever want to hurt you.

Hurt by the one you love,
needing, longing to make it right,
to fix the damage that has been caused,
allowing yourself to take full blame for his mistake,
knowing deep down, you didn't cause this,
refusing to see that he hurt you.

Love is love,
pain is pain,
betrayal cause all trust to fail,
you love the one you're with,
but the question is,
"Does he truly love you back?"

    This was a dam powerful poem. Really strong and heartfelt. The questions in this piece came from deep down inside and some of us are too scared too really ask ourselves that question but there comes a time in every relationship when we just have to ask ourselves if the one we are with truly loves us and its hard and difficult to answer but your poem summed this situation up so dam well. You really know how to take your thoughts and feelings and put them down into a poem

    The answer is "no, he doesn't truly love you back." He does it once, he can definitely do it again. Another heartfelt understanding poem that defines the real questions that go through girl's minds whenever they get hurt and try to take them back. Superb job.
