Woes of Heartbreak (the 'Whats')

by Kips2.0   Dec 16, 2011

What does it feel like
when your heart is broken
and love throws you a punch
in the face like a slave?

What would you do
when all you once lived for
is now a story of the past
and life makes less sense to you?

How much does it hurt when
your heart snaps open in two,
and the dear one who lives there
jumps out and ran off?

Do you cry when you know
your tears will neither bring
the dead love back to life nor
initiate the inception of a new one?

Love fell apart and I thought
I could do something about it,
but the one I once loved
has decided to let go of me.

The river of love that flows
abundantly was receded by the
wind that was supposed to
strengthen its flow off shore.

My heart is torn in two
and my world is shattered.
What will be my end after this,
or from where should I even begin?

Wow just wow.. I don't understand why this piece has so few votes and comments. The stanza I quoted above had the most effective impact on me. Very relatable. "Dead love" is beautifully well-penned, if not sad. How you formed the question with your command of words is just awe-inspiring, let me tell you.
    And the ending: superb!

    Beautifully written. Keep writing!!!
