Hate me for me, don't love me for a lie!

by Rhi   Dec 27, 2011

I'd rather you hate me for the truth,
Than love me for a lie,
I'll live the way I want to,
As I can not see why,
I should change myself for you,
Love me as I am,
Or else you really don't deserve me,
Or all that I've become.

I won't change who I am for you,
Why should I have to try,
You will love me the way I am,
Don't you moan or cry,
You're the one with the problem,
Fix you're attitude,
I'm not the one who can't accept,
I'm not the one who is rude.

In a world so broken,
So filled with hate and despair,
Why would you want to fix someone,
Who has always just been there,
The first one to help you out,
The first one to be there,
That's who you want to "fix",
Even though I care.

I've never tried to change you,
I've never felt the urge,
So do me the courtesy,
And spare me from the purge,
From this society of individuality,
Of anyone who is different,
Those who won't blend in,
To conformity won't consent.

Hate me or love me,
I couldn't care at all,
If it's me you feel it for,
Not society's faceless wall,
I won't blend in for you,
I've got to be true to me,
To help my mental state,
And who I want to be!
