If we could actually hold sweet and/or nice in our hands, this poem would surely be there. It gives the reader that sense of sweetness and niceness (Not sure that is a word).

"One smile breaks the lock over my mending heart,
Chains covering old wounds shatter with ease."

Those two lines...touched me beyond belief. They just give me such a vivid image of a lock opening that's over a heart and chains just falling away from scars... The imagery in this poem is spectacular.

Krista, this poem is very beautiful with its simplistic words and meaning but I found it to be unique though I see poems like this a lot. You came at the poem from a different view with a happy ending and a sweet story that makes the reader feel at ease and also like they are the one receiving the love from this wonderful person. The structure was solid and it had a good overall flow that carried from line to line.

This had to be my favorite stanza and I also think the strongest one though I might lean more to the last one being stronger. Anyway, the stanza had some wonderful imagery and your emotions and feelings come off the paper with good taste and clarity.

Overall, this poem has a ton of potential as a wonderful piece and as far as I am concerned it is perfect in many aspects. Many people can relate to this poem to, which makes it even more meaningful to that person. I'm glad to see your writing skills improving. Great job and keep writing!
